Italian Wines, Garden Fresh Veggies
& House-made Burrata
We have introduced our new all-Italian wine list! Favorites include the Carpineto line pictured above (aren't those labels gorgeous?!) and a robust Nero d'Avola from Sicily: 2016 Il Meridione. See the full list here and don't forget about Wine Wednesday - all bottles are half off!
We've been harvesting cherry tomatoes, serrano & shishito peppers and zucchini this week. Fun fact - zucchini plants have both male and female blossoms, but only the female blossoms produce fruit. We harvest the male blooms, stuff them with some cheese, lightly batter and fry them. YUM! And we're serving a zucchini crudo with lemon-truffle vinaigrette as a special appetizer.
Our house-made Burrata is the newest item on our menu. We start with cheese curd to make mozzarella, then stretch it, fill it with creamy ricotta and bundle it up. Watch the process here. The burrata is served with tomato-garlic jam, arugula and crostini.
